The Dr.S.Radhakrishnan College of Education Diploma offered bears the signature of Dr.S.Radhakrishnan and is internationally recognized. Since the standards are so high, the students who pass out from our institutes are armed with an in depth understanding of the psychology of the child. Practical training forms a large part of the curriculum.
The courses are examined on an annual basis to ensure that the quality of instruction and the philosophy are upheld. The Dr.S.Radhakrishnan Research, Training & Development Committee gathers information regarding children from all corners of the world.
Pre-School Teacher’s Training Course Information
Duration: Three (3) Months and five days a week.Â
Lectures are delivered in English, Hindi & Kannada
Practice classes, with the Montessori materials, will be held three times a week for 2 and a half hours.
Students in these practice classes will be placed in smaller groups and will handle the material and acquire the technique of its presentation. The classes will also be held under the supervision of qualified assistants
Students will be sent for Practice Teaching for eight weeks to various Pre-Primary / Montessori schools in the city. During this time they will work directly with children under the supervision of a trained adult.
Students will also be sent to observe children at work in a Montessori environment for thirteen weeks. They will have to keep a record of their experience.
Students at Dr.S.Radhakrishnan College of Education will be expected to submit written work at regular intervals during the course. This will include a synopsis of lectures and four material books containing descriptions of various parts of the materials, their aims and the technique of presenting them to the child.
Students will also be expected to prepare nomenclature cards for various subjects, a poetry anthology, a leaf folder, a development chart as well as samples of some of the materials.

Attendance
Students must have a minimum of 90% attendance including time taken off due to illness. In case of absence, students should notify the Director of Training in writing, at least one day ahead of time, stating their reasons precisely. In case of illness students should submit a medical certificate from a registered practitioner stating the nature and duration of the illness. Students must be punctual. Late comers will be marked absent for half the session.
Examinations

The practical examination will consist of the demonstration of the use of the apparatus after which students will have to answer questions relating to the apparatus.
The students eligibility for the examination will depend on the following
- a minimum 90% attendance
- punctual submission of work
- satisfactory performance in the periodic test during the course
- full payment of the course fees

They will have to apply for this opportunity in writing with a full and acceptable explanation. In case of medical grounds, a registered practitioner must attest the medical certificate. They will be charged a fee.
Students granted permission to appear for re-examination in the two parts can do so the following year. They will be required to attend additional classes. They will also be charged a fee.
Students declared failed in the examination or in the re-examination will have to undergo another full course of training. They will have to pay the full course fees. The decision of the Board of Examiners will be final and binding. No appeals will be entertained after the results are released.
